Module 1 – Youth Information outreach to disadvantaged groups
Module content overview
The first unit explains the definitions of youth work and disadvantaged background. The second unit
contextualizes the concept of diversity in our globalized world and intercultural learning and cultural
competence.
Module objectives:
1. To discover what youth information outreach is and its applicability in the context of
working with disadvantaged groups
2. To introduce the model highlighting intercultural learning and cultural competence for
youth workers
3. To explore methods on diversity that can be transferred to your personal youth work
practice
